The M14/M1A CASM® "EX" scope mount is based on our original, 6.125" CASM® scope mount design but the new "EX" version has been extended a full 9.125" for greater optics mounting versatility. In particular, short eye releif scopes, like ACOG®s benefit from rearward mounting and red dot combinations like Eotech® + magnifier or Aimpoint® + magnifier setups benefit from the longer rail. While still retaining all of the benefits of the original CASM® scope mount design, such as ease of setup, lightweight and a reliable double-locked design, the "EX" version also helps improve a rifle's tipping point balance by mounting optics up to 1.5" rearward.
