All items are to be either anodized or black oxide coated. This first production stock will go to a ISO 9001:2008 approved anodizing facility Friday March 23th or Monday March 26th. The anodizing facility will require approx. 10 days for processing. Once this first production unit is inspected, installed and range tested, production will begin in earnest in early April. A pre-order page will be available shortly after Blackfeather returns from anodizing/coating. Thank-you for your patience!

March 18 2012. The Blackfeather "RS" rifle system has been undergoing accuracy testing through March. This process is now coming to a close. Significantly, our standard Norinco M305 (M14) with a 22" barrel is shooting 1" groups using Federal 168gr. GMM HPBT match ammunition. Please review the following images for more details of our March 18th shoot: Img. 1. Img. 2..

February 2012. During the entire month of February, our primary focus will be testing our new quad-locked, fully adjustable oprod guide. No futher updates at this time.

January 17th 2012. The CASM Gen 2 scope mount is out of machining this evening! Along with it came a complete run of CASM "MRD" mounts. We are looking forward to getting the MRD up on our web site after anodizing.

January 15 2012 The M14/M1A Blackfeather® "RS" last prototype comes out of machining this week. We will go to range for testing towards week's end and expect rifle stock production to begin near end of March. For now, please read and review the M14/M1A Blackfeather® "RS" Press Release.. Thank-you.

December 12 2011 The Blackfeather® "RS" brings together the light weight, balance and ergonomics of a traditional USGI synthetic stock but it also includes the precision bedding and our proprietary barrel tensioned accurizing in a monolithic block only modern aluminum materials can offer.

For the first time, here are two photos of the new M14.ca Blackfeather® "RS" rifle stock.

November 25 2011 The M14/M1A Blackfeather® "RS" continues it's slow, albeit steady progress! Our brief sojourn to develop a new Jpoint scope mount was well worth the delay. Along with our "CASM®" scope mount, "RD®" mount, the new "MRD®" mount for the Jpoint® series of micro electronic reflex sights will be a fantastic compliment to our rifle stock. After discussing more than fourteen line items such as trigger pad tapering, radiusing our magazine well, the details of 2 removable fore-end rails, etc., etc., we beleive we will have our first "monolithic" prototype ready for the range in the first week of December. This will be our first real, "rifle ready" M14 stock based on the Blackfeather® design concepts. Thank-you.

October 18 2011 The M14/M1A Blackfeather® "RS" back end is being re-designed with a ambidextrous, angled, super tough folding mechanism. This is our last "RS" feature set inclusion for what we hope will ship with the production stock. Importantly, our proprietary barrel tensioning device will now fit under standard M14/M1A hand guards, precluding the use of a top rail and offering the customer a chance to continue to use existing, low mount, scout-style hand guards without interference. We also decided on a "chop mod" cut off point allowing you to remove a couple of extra ounces from your stock foreend (a weigh-in with a USGI fibreglass folding stock today also showed a near equivalency in weight (1.5lbs!) between our stock outfitted with a Magpul® MOE pistol grip and a Magpul® CTR buttstock with a Mil-spec VLTOR® buffer tube and a fibreglass USGI chopped stock outfitted with a butler creek folding device). Other changes included the definition and placement of Blackfeather's® vent openings and grip pattern. A 6th prototype is now nearing completion that will more accurately represent the shipping stock's entire feature set. Expect it by the end of October. What we hope is our "final" prototype will then go to the range for testing. Thank-you.

September 30 2011 Our newest prototype of the M14/M1A Blackfeather® "RS" ("RS" = "Rifle System") came out of the HAAS VF-3 Vertical Mill today! After this last meeting, convened with our gunsmith, machinist and staff, a meeting which lasted more than 2 hours, only cosmetic toolpath changes were issued. This is our latest revision to our 5th prototype since November 2010 and one of the most revealing and rewarding of all. The newest revision will go to the range in October for test firing. An update will follow.

September 1 2011 We made a significant change to the back end of our stock that will allow a height adjustment option for compatibility with the M14/M1A CASM® scope mount as well as irons and one other option we will leave undisclosed until a working prototype debuts for photo opportunities. Looking forward to our next update.

We have a confirmed "GO" for cutting stock prototypes beginning August 29th 2011. We are looking forward to bringing you more photos and updates as we get closer to our first test samples. Thank-you.

As at July 15th 2011, a meeting was convened for a "Design and Intent Review" of the "M14/M1A Blackfeather®" rifle stock prototype. From that meeting it was agreed that a new prototype would be machined in 7075 aluminum in September 2011. We are looking forward to reporting further as testing begins in the Fall.

As at May 20 2011, our M14.ca rifle stock receives a new name, the "M14/M1A Blackfeather®." Our goals are to bring a stock to market that will be fast handling, light, offer proprietary accurizing features and a range of options. While this process has been a long one, we have never been more focused and determined. Thank-you for your patience while we eadeavor to bring you one of the best rifle stocks in the world for the M14/M1A platform.

As at November 1 2010, we have completed marrying the M14 reciever group to the stock utilizing USGI drawing no. F7790189 and several rifle receivers: this includes includes Polytech and Norinco products. We've set in stone trigger ergonomics and the details of our barrel tensioning device and completed our buttstock interface. We're making slow and steady progress in that regard and moving ahead with a new M14 rifle scope design that is expected for sale in January 2011. Two other product offerings are also pending with news to follow. Thank-you for your interest and please, visit the main page and sign up to our email list (bottom of home page) or send an email directly to info@m14.ca and we'll make sure to send you product announcements as they become available.
